Europcar Ireland Rental Terms for travel between 01-Nov-2017 and 31-Dec-2019
All deposits taken at the time of booking are non-refundable.
All charges are inclusive of VAT at 13.5% which is subject to change.
Airport Surcharge :
Airport Surcharge is included in your rate
For all airport collections, we ask you to provide us with the correct flight number and arrival time when booking your vehicle. This is to ensure that if your flight is delayed your car will be held and staff will be in place to greet you when you arrive. If this information is not available to you at the time of booking, we ask you to provide us with it at least 5 days before your arrival date. If we do not receive this information in time, we cannot take responsibility for a failed rental.
Drivers must be eligible to hold a drivers license for 8 years at the commencement of rental to drive groups EBMN/EDMN/CDMN/EDAN/CDAN. For groups, IDMN/CWMN/IDMD/IDAR drivers must be eligible to hold a drivers license for 9 years, while for groups FDMR/SVMR/FVMR/FDAR/SVAR/FFMR/FFAR/PDAR/IFMR/IFAR drivers must be eligible to hold a license for 11 years. Drivers over the age of 74 will need to provide a medical certificate which states that they are fit to drive and a letter from their insurance company stating that they are currently driving and have not had an accident within the last 5 years. This information must be received at least 5 working days in advance of your rental.
Additional Driver :
Additional drivers can be added for a daily fee of €10.22. Additional drivers can be added on collection of the vehicle only. Normal age and license restrictions apply. Please note unauthorized drivers are not covered by our insurance and are prohibited from driving the rental car. The additional driver must be present at the time of pickup and must fulfill all the same criteria as the principal driver.
Driving license :
Drivers (and additional drivers) must be in possession of a full, unendorsed driving license which they have held for at least 2 years prior to the commencement of the rental. Licences must be produced in person at the rental location on the collection of the vehicle. Drivers must be in possession of their license at all times when driving the vehicle. If a driver has any endorsements on their license, they must contact our Reservations Department prior to booking as there may be restrictions on renting. Failure to inform us of endorsements will result in the driver being refused the vehicle and forfeiting any deposit taken. Licences must be from the country of permanent residence. Holders of UK, US, Canadian, Australian and all EU member states are NOT required to supply an International Driving Permit (IDP). International Driving Permits where required, MUST BE accompanied by the original domestic license of the driver. This is clearly stated on the international permit. An International permit presented without the domestic license, will not be accepted.
It is a legal requirement that the driver must have both the card and the paper part of their UK license. Where the paper part is missing, the rental agent will be required to contact the DVLA to confirm that there are no endorsements on the license. In the event that we must contact the DVLA, an administration fee of EUR11.35 will apply to the rental. We can only contact the DVLA within their standard hours of operation (please see http://www.dft.gov.uk/dvla/). Where we cannot contact the DVLA, we accept no responsibility for a failed rental. Please ensure that you have your driving license with you on the collection of the vehicle.
Cash Rental deposit :
Not allowed - credit card only
Credit Cards Accepted :
The main driver must be the holder of a major credit card which they must produce on arrival. We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diners Club. Payment must be made with a credit card as we do not accept cash, debit cards, electronic cards or the credit card from a third party. At the time of rental, there must be sufficient credit on your card to cover all charges including the excess/deductible amount. A credit card is required for the excess/deductible and additional charges such as extra drivers, fuel, parking fines etc. Holders of a 'Chip and Pin' credit card must know their PIN number.

One way rentals are available between all branches but a one-way service fee may apply.

- Additional Driver €10.22 per day
Restriction Of Use :
Travel to Northern Ireland - If you wish to travel to Northern Ireland, you must inform us on the collection of your vehicle. There is a nominal €34.05 fee when taking a car into Northern Ireland. Cars cannot be taken off the island of Ireland at any stage and must be returned in the Republic. Failure to purchase the required insurance will result in the renter accepting full responsibility for any recovery fees, should the car breakdown.
M50 Tolls - If you use the M50 between junctions 6 and 7, you will pass through a barrier-free toll. All of our vehicles are registered directly with the Toll Operator. Europcar will be charged directly by the Toll Operator. We will then charge your credit card directly for each crossing. PLEASE DO NOT PAY EFLOW DIRECTLY as this will result in a non-refundable duplicate payment.
Vehicle Hold - Vehicles will only be held for 2 hours after the booked pickup time/landing time within our opening hours. After this time, the vehicle may not be available.
Maximum Rental Duration
The maximum rental duration is 30 days in one vehicle. If you rental is for longer than this, you will be required to change into a different vehicle during your rental.
We offer two fuel options:
1. PREPAID FUEL OPTION
Customers can choose our prepaid fuel option at the beginning of their rental at our special discounted rates. To avail of this option, the fuel tank MUST BE RETURNED EMPTY. No refunds will be given for unused fuel. Prices for this option are set locally.
2. FLEXI FUEL OPTION:
Pay a deposit for a full tank of fuel when picking up the rental car at market rates and on return, the renter has two options:
• Return with a full tank and the fuel deposit will be refunded automatically.
• Return the tank less than full and pay for any used fuel plus a Refill Service Charge.
No compensation will be given for fuel charges if an upgrade to a larger car is given.
Terms of booking on this website
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
In the event of cancellation, any deposit amounts paid at the time of booking are non-refundable.
If you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
